Role
The Attorney General advises the Government of India on legal matters and represents it in the Supreme Court and High Courts. They have the right of audience in all courts and can take part in parliamentary proceedings without a right to vote.
Appointment
Appointed by the President, the Attorney General holds office during the pleasure of the President and must be qualified to be a Supreme Court judge.
