Given below are two statements :
Statement I:\(\text{ D-(+)-glucose }+\mathrm{D}-(+)\text{ –fructose }\overset{-{\mathrm{H}}_{2}\mathrm{O}}{\to }\text{ sucrose }\)
\(\text{ sucrose }\overset{\text{ Hydrolysis }}{\to }\text{ D-(+)-glucose }+\text{ D-(+)–fructose }\)
Statement II : Invert sugar is formed during sucrose hydrolysis.
In the light of the above statements, choose the correct answer from the options given below
[JEE Main 2025, 7 Apr (Shift 1)]
Statement I is false but Statement II is true.
On hydrolysis of sucrose gives D-(+)-glucose and D-(–)-fructose while in Statement I D-(+)-fructose is given evince Statement–I is incorrect.
Statement–II : It is correct because sucrose on hydrolysis gives invert sugar.
